Adults Only

This event is in the past. This page is for information purposes only.

What is barefoot running you might ask? As part of the Walking Festival why not come along and give it a go and find out....

Barefoot running, or running in minimal shoes, is something that humans have been doing for millennia and have moved away from only in recent years with the advent of the trainer industry. A revival of minimal running or barefoot running came about in the early 2000's with the release of a book called Born to Run - this book sparked a movement of people and this is your opportunity to give it a go.

Local runner, and MK Lakeside run leader Christian will give an overview of shoes that are available, advise on some tip and techniques to get started, and take you on an experiential walk, jog and run around Campbell Park. He's been leading beginners courses, multiple runs, and completing events in this style for many years and will give you the confidence to give it a go.

Meeting at Campbell Park pavilion, Silbury Boulevard

What3Words location - /// retrain.attention.poem

The session will last up to around 90 minutes, and will be a combination of talking and movement. Wear clothes and trainers that you're comfortable with, allowing for the conditions and weather.

Parking at this location is limited and alternative parking is available at the canalside car park. There is also bike parking at the pavilion.

The event is free and no booking is required - we hope to see you there!

All queries and questions should be sent though to the MKLR website
