Back for another year, Willen Lake’s spooktastic Hallowe’en Trail promises free family fun this half term. Children will need to keep an eye out for pumpkins, ghosts, spiders, bats and witches’ hats, each with a question to answer, and complete an answer sheet to earn a treat!

There’s no tricks as the trail has been designed for primary school aged children and follows a buggy-friendly route that’s less than a kilometre. Simply visit the Watersports Centre between 10am – 4pm to pick up a free answer sheet.

The Hallowe’en Trail will be available from Saturday 21st October – Tuesday 31st October.

For older children and fearless families, the high ropes course at Treetop Extreme will be open every day throughout half-term. The adventure starts at the climbing wall, followed by a series of obstacles at various height levels, before culminating in a thrilling 13-metre freefall: the Treetop Drop.

Take on an extra challenge and attempt the high ropes course after the sun has set. After Dark sessions at Treetop Extreme are back with limited availability on Tuesday 31st October for the ultimate Hallowe’en treat.

If scaling heights sounds like horror, the team at Treetop Extreme also offer Archery sessions firmly on the ground. These sessions are suitable for beginners aged 8+ and will be available on Wednesday and weekends at 11am.

Alongside the activities on land, there’s still a chance to get onto the lake before the temperature drops. Boat Hire will be available from the Watersports Centre, with a choice between pedalos, paddleboards and kayaks to explore the lake.

Autumn is an excellent season to start sailing and aspiring young sailors can gain RYA qualifications on the Youth Sailing Week. This course will run from Monday 23rd – Friday 27th October between 9am – 4.30pm.
