Two people cycling along pathway around Willen Lake with pedestrians in the distance

Cycling

Milton Keynes is home to a fantastic network of Redways and leisure routes and Willen Lake is no exception to that.

Willen Lake has level surfaced paths surrounding the water which makes the area easy to explore on a bike. The lake connects with the city’s linear park network, offering you lots of ways you can extend your ride.

If you don't own your own bike and want to give cycling a go, there is a cycle hire business which operates at the lake.

During school holidays and events, our leisure routes can get busy so please ensure when overtaking pedestrians you follow the Highway Code and slow down, let them know you're there, pass wide and be ready to stop.
