Willen Lake is managed by The Parks Trust, the independent charity that cares for over 6,000 acres of beautiful and inspirational green space in Milton Keynes. When you pay to enjoy facilities at Willen Lake, you’re helping to fund the development and maintenance of the city's parks.

Things To Do

There's something for everyone to enjoy, including the Treetop Extreme high ropes course, outdoor splash park Splash ‘n’ Play, and watersports such as kayaking and paddleboarding. The park is home to a huge outdoor play area and accessible leisure routes with wildlife and beautiful scenery to enjoy along the way. It’s a great place to entertain family and friends of all ages!

History & Culture

Willen Lake is one of Britain's largest purpose-built balancing lakes, spanning around 100 acres. It was created in the 1970's during the development of Milton Keynes to help prevent flooding. The lake is home to many cultural landmarks such as the Peace Pagoda, Labyrinth, and the Medicine Wheel.

We are new to Milton Keynes and love spending time at Willen Lake. It's such a great place with a lovely family friendly vibe. There are people out jogging, walking, cycling, picnicking etc. every day. Would highly recommend a visit.
